Digital Gaming Learning Log

This page is dedicated to my digital game play in the course I’m taking at NDMU. Most of the games are recommendations from students! They were both astonished and excited that I’m going to play something other than my standard PAC-MAN. Here’s the list they gave me:

  1. Simpsons Tapped Out
  2. Kingdom Rush
  3. Puzzle Craft I & II
  4. RipTide GP
  5. Mario Run
  6. Sporcle
  7. Family Guy Freakin
  8. Ballz
  9. Team Fortress
  10.  Clash of Clans I & II
  11. Clash Royale
  12. Crossword Puzzles
  13. Madden
  14. NBA
  15. Mortal Kombat X
  16. Hungry Shark Evolution
  17. Funbrain

As an English teacher, I’d say the most difficult concepts to teach are ones surrounding those critical thinking skills like making inferences, determining the author’s purpose, understanding the theme or main idea of a text. My students also struggle with writing. They want to know how to start and how to keep going and how to end.

The idea of the course I’m taking is to introduce me to games that I can introduce in the classroom to help students with concepts using a method they’re used to — gaming. This is my attempt at finding those digital resources.
